The Pencil Panda

I recently realized that I had not done a pencil drawing in quite some time. I love doing the pen drawings I've been completing lately, but at the same time I miss drawing with my trusty pencils. So I decided that I'm going to get back into the habit of doing more frequent pencil drawings. I've told myself that I will try to swap turns with my pencils and pens, alternating between completing pencil drawings and pen drawings.

That all being said, I just finished a new pencil drawing. Here it is.

This is my pencil panda.

I enjoyed completing this pencil piece. I had forgotten how much I really enjoy doing pencil drawings, so it feels good to get back in the habit of it. What's more, I got to test out a new pack of tortillions and stumps on this little bear. Good times!

I hope you like it!

I have finished the next piece in my animal nursery art series! Meet Grizzly Gus.

Here's Grizzly Gus.
It had been awhile since I'd had the chance to finish a piece in my animal nursery art series, so I really enjoyed creating this one! It was quite satisfying seeing the long overdue completion of this furry critter, and now I can't wait to get started on the next one!

I hope you like it!

Christmas Critters (finally!)

So, I had a couple of setbacks with my supplies. Mainly, my favorite local art store seems to have reduced its art pen stock, and my favorite set of pens has not been attainable there lately. After completely drying out a number of the colors, desperation forced me to go against my usual doctrine of only buying my art supplies in person and I ordered my pens online.

And now, I finally have my new set of pens in hand and I am thrilled! I immediately finished my animal Christmas art that had been put on hold. So, without further ado...
This is the Christmas puppy.
And this is the Christmas kitty.
At first I planned on giving the puppy spots and making the kitty a calico. I rethought those plans, though, and ultimately decided that I wanted to go for simplicity with these Christmas critters.

I love Christmas, and I love animals, and I love drawing animals. So, I really enjoyed creating these pieces, even despite the setbacks.

I hope you like them! And I hope you are having a merry time gearing up for Thanksgiving and Christmas!

I'm still here!

As the title says, I'm still here! I apologize for the lack of posts lately. I know it's an exhausted excuse, but things really have been very busy lately, both with artwork and of course with other forms of work as well.

I can hardly keep my eyes open at this moment, but stay tuned for a new post from me tomorrow. It will involve a sneak peak of my current animal Christmas pieces. So, as I said, stay tuned!
